Young people's greatest desire is to find meaning in life and to establish their role in society. My passion and intention is empowering youth;

to find what motivates them and ignites their inner fire through self-awareness and personal exploration. 

The Youth Empowerment program is an initiative project that will guide the young person to find out who they are, what is most important

to them and how to live this reality to the fullest. 

Physical Activity

Yoga postures will increase flexibility, boost the immune system, aid the teenage body to manage growth spurts and transitions with more ease and understanding. Overall, yoga can aid in creating a healthier body image.

Focus 

In order to achieve anything in life focus is needed. Yoga helps us to focus physically and mentally through finding inner balance and stability.

 

Internal reflection

External pressures and distractions may be quietened. Through relaxation and breathing techniques, the young person can recharge and regulate internal stress.

 

Being in the present moment

Can allow for worries and disappointments to become less important. Meditation can help calm the constant internal chatter and may allow for release of negative thoughts.

 

 

The program consists of 4x4 hour sessions that are a combination of yoga, journaling and the passion test activities. These are proven and recognised systems that promote self-development and self-confidence and will encourage the young person to know what they want, to take action and to be in control of their future.

The 4 sessions are a guideline, they can be modified according to the number of participants and the time devoted to each one of them. The program is mobile (all materials are provided) and can be adapted to individual enviroments.

DAILY GUIDELINE

Bienvenue – « What’s up with me ? » 3 wins for the week.

Yoga class and relaxation exploring a theme related to the day.

Journal exercise – each student receives a journal as a gift at the beginning of the workshop. It will be used to develop personal reflection and answer specific questions related to the course. 

Theme of the day – The Passion Test.

Meditation and final reflexion for the day.

AGREEMENTS

The student is asked to come with a beginners mind.

To be open and curious and to live and feel in the present moment.

To have fun and feel good about oneself without judgement and not at the expense of someone else.

To take of each other. Helping someone if they need support.

Confidentiality agreement.

MATERIAL

Each student receives a journal as a gift.

Written hand-outs for the passion test.

Yoga matts and cushions.

Flip chart.

FIRST DAY  

MY 5 MAIN PASSIONS

Introduction to the passion test.

« Ice-breakers » games.

Introduction to yoga – an exploration of yoga postures with the

theme « l’empowerment »

Journal – Who is your role model ?

 

The passion test process –the student deciphers their top 5 passions through « The power decision process », then chooses their number 1 passion.

Final meditation and breathing exercise.

SECOND DAY

 MY VISION BOARD

Ice breaker – « What’s up with me » 3 wins for the week.

Yoga class with theme of fluid movement.

 Journal – Intention, attention and no tension.

Show an inspirational video of a youth living their passion to the fullest 

Markers exercise – A marker is « I'm on the path » , A goal often has a date attached to it, it is what you intend to achieve, the marker is the on-going evidence that you are « Walking with the goal in hand »

Vision board – each student creates a vision board incorporating

their top 5 passions.

Final meditation and breathing exercise.

THIRD DAY 

THE OBSTACLES

Ice breaker « What i have discovered about me is... »  3 wins for the week.

Yoga class with the theme « Feel-move-feel », Flow class.

Journal – contraction and expansion, what do these terms mean ?

How do we feel them ?

Nature's guidance – the expansion and

contraction process - 7 steps to expansion.

The 8 keys of excellence – the keys to living and integrated, meaningful and successful life.

Final meditation and breathing exercise.

FOURTH DAY

THE CELEBRATION

Ice breaker « What i like about me and what i like about my neighbour… » 

3 wins for the week

Yoga class with the theme : « The journey of life »

Journal – « My 50th birthday speech ».

Presentation of each young person in the group; speech and vision board.

Revision of all that has been discovered over the last four weeks.

Final meditation and breathing exercise.
